George Beverly Shea, In Memory

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with The Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8).

On Wednesday one of the world’s best-loved singers, and one of mine, passed into glory with our Heavenly Father. George Beverly Shea touched the world with his booming baritone voice. I will miss him but I know Mr. Shea is celebrating this morning and I, we, still have his recordings.

Robert Cottrill wrote a wonderful dedication today about Mr Shea. You may read it here.

Two of Mr. Shea’s signature songs were I’d Rather Have Jesus, which he penned, and How Great Thou Art.

We look forward to meeting George Beverly Shea in Heaven.
